About FV Rockville Soccer teams

-League play: EDP leagues as appropriate to competition level.

-Tournaments: Two tournaments per season in fall and spring.

-State Cup: competitions based on age. 

-Practices: two team practices a week and a group technical session.

-Winter:  a mix of indoor and outdoor as weather allows with the goal of playing in an indoor league.

-Other sports: All players are strongly encouraged to play other sports to vary their personal enjoyment and athletic development. The hope is soccer is the priority but not mandatory. This is a core tenant of the club. 

-Video review: All games are recorded on a Pixellot Pro sports camera, available to all the players and the basis for film review done periodically.

-ODP: All players are encouraged to compete in ODP, Olympic Development Program, MSYSA's proving ground for elite talent. 

-Opportunities abroad: players will have opportunities to train across the Atlantic with various opportunities to join elite competition in Europe. 

-Transparency: Costs, fees and rundown will be fully transparent so you can see where your player fee is going. 

-Techne training: Players are given a membership to an online training platform named Techne where they can accumulate training time, badges and compete against each other for prizes.

Inspiring professional development: We want to give the kids a professional environment that is enjoyable and inspiring. The best thing that can happen at their foundational ages is to discover their love and talent for this sport while making best friends and great memories. In our opinion, smiling faces are more important than rankings or league placements. 

Respecting people's time and family values: this experience wants to work in people's lives guiding their soccer player to high levels without exhausting the child or the family. The goal would be to play soccer in college but the foundation needs to be set that they love the sport. This journey needs to happen at the choosing of the player (not the parents) and not at the cost of the family dynamic and the player's mental well being. Kids have to want to play soccer in order to get better and furthemore be at their best. They have to be passionate about the time on the field in order to want to work at home. 

Foster a love for the sport: We want to foster a love for the sport of soccer and the dream of playing professionally some day. Maintaining their dreams and putting together a plan to achieve that dream is a key component to the club. We will regularly attend DC United, University of Maryland and Washington Spirit games.
